Perry The Platypus!

Hi! This is our version of a Perry The Platypus Valentine's Box! I loved how it turned out, and boy oh boy was my little man excited about it! He told all of his friends how he helped make Perry the Platypus. He exclaimed excitedly, "Daddy we have a new pet! It's a platypus, they don't do much."

He demanded 3 hearts on each side!

His tail

The name (thank you cricut!)

Materials we used:

Shoe Box (we used toddler size 13 shoes, and it was plenty!)
Green/teal paper. I used 12X12 scrapbook cardstock. In retrospect a regular paper, wrapping paper maybe? would have been easier/better! But this was the exact color of Perry the Platypus!)
Orange paper-this should be cardstock since it has to be stiff for his tail and beak.
white paper/cardstock for eyes cut into 2" circles (use a 2" punch if you have it, or just cut it with your cricut!)
small black hearts for pupils (since it was VDAY after all) and letters
Small amount of yarn for hair

First cover the box and lid in the green paper.

Make a U shape for the beak/tail. Ours were the same size. Draw black diagonal lines on the tail and do it the opposite direction to make the pattern.

Attach bill, tail and eyes to the box.

You're good to go!

Ahhhhh!

I'm so in love with these pictures. My BFF Stacy, as you probably know, is an AMAZING photographer. Her little guy's 1st birthday was in March, and she planned the birthday party so we could go! It was a Where The Wild Things Are party, and OH MAN, it was AMAZING! She asked me to knit this hat for her little Jackie, and of course I said yes! And decided to knit him a Small Things Romper for him too! In the pebble grey color, it just SCREAMS Max, to me anyway!

Check out her little Jack in the outfit and hat I knit.

London Stripes = delicious

You may remember my friend Erica's Mad Skilz Shorties. These are also going to her. They match the London diaper. Gorgeous diaper, gorgeous colors, fabulous shorties.

One mroe for today..

...unless I become TOTALLY ambitious. With 2 sick kids, I'm not thinking that's going to happen!

Anna's Hudson Hat! I'm pretty sure that this is my favorite Hudson Hat I've ever made. I LOVE the that this hat is SO girlie without being ALL pink!

Finished Projects!

Kimmy & Bella's Jane Hats!

So, as you may, or may not know, I have two little boys. I have 4 sisters, 2 step brothers (but they're way older than me, so I NEVER, saw them). I didn't know how to do the whole boy, thing, but 3 years later, I'm hanging in there! I absolutely adore all things girlie, and pink, glittery, flowery, fairies...seriously. I'm a GIRLIE GIRL! These hats are just that! My friend Jenn has 2 little girls, Kimmy & Bella, and Kimmy loved the hat Bella got with her longies and wanted them to have matching! Voila!

{love} seriously.

This hat, I wish I had a little girl to put it on! It's going to be stocking at Cong-Fu on Wednesday the 4th. It's a super soft Cashmerino from Annie Amelia, and I duplicate stitched "Love" onto it! Seriously. I think I want one for me!

Ailey's Jane Hat!

It's almost finished! I'm trying to figure out what to embellish it with! for that I'm going to wait. I will finish Griffin's longies, and then hopefully be inspired for Ailey's hat! I'm thinking maybe a pink star?! We'll see! Or maybe a heart?!

I don't know!

Mission: Accomplished!

So I have completed a seemingly impossible task.  I have knit my first pair of (wearable) LONGIES!!!  My goal for my Christmas break was such, and I did it!  And Gabe can not only wear them, but they look cute on him!!  He is actually, for the record, wearing them right now as I type!  I used my gorgeous Malabrigo yarn from Annie Amelia, and seriously they're cute!

Ok, so they're a little like skinny jeans, but that's OK!  He can wear them and not look too terribly funny!  I'm working on a hat for my dad right now, it's a long funny story that I will post someday!  And then on Kenzie's Hudson hat!  I balled the first hank of scrappy yarn!  It's going to be cute, I hope!
